We want to share the news with you that our wonderful Festivals and Projects Manager, Melanie, will be stepping down from her post later this month. She has been offered a fantastic new position as Strategic & Creative Director at Dumfries and Galloway Arts, and whilst we will miss her very much, we are very excited for her as she embarks on this new chapter.
Melanie has been with Puppet Animation Scotland for three and a half years and has been an integral part of the team during this time. She has delivered three MANIPULATE Festivals and three Puppet Animation Festivals in her time with the organisation, and has worked closely with artists and industry partners over several years to grow the impact of our work and initiate new collaborations. Most recently at our MANIPULATE Festival in 2021 she conceived and curated our Animated Womxn programme, which brought together brilliant womxn in animation from around the world in a celebration of their work.
A huge thanks from everyone at the Puppet Animation Scotland team for all of Melanie’s work over the years, and wishing her all the very best in her future endeavours.

“After three and a half years at Puppet Animation Scotland, it’s with a heavy-heart that I leave to pastures new. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with the organisation, especially working closely with artists and my team to present our annual festivals. The time has flown by. I’ve been amazed and inspired by the work that we deliver and the artists we have supported over the years and I’m pleased to have made an impact throughout my time at PAS. I wish the team all the best with the future and I look forward to bringing puppetry, visual theatre and animation to Dumfries & Galloway.”
