We are delighted to announce that Róisín O’Brien will be joining our team as our new Producer, helping us shape MANIPULATE 2023 whilst our AD & CEO is away on maternity leave.
Róisín is a freelance dance artist, writer and producer based in Edinburgh who has been working in the performing arts since 2016. She recently produced the DanceLive festival run by Citymoves in Aberdeen in 2020 and 2021, and has prior experience working in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and on independent PR campaigns. Her choreography has been performed throughout Scotland (including at Summerhall), and she writes for The Guardian and dance publications Springback Magazine and Fjord Review. As of June 2021, she is also a qualified yoga teacher!
Artistic Director and CEO Dawn, and the Puppet Animation Scotland team, said: “We are so delighted to be welcoming Róisín to the Puppet Animation Scotland team. She brings with her a strong track record in festival programming, along with a great understanding and instinct for MANIPULATE’s unique artistic offer, and will be a real asset to our small organisation.
By bringing in a fresh outside perspective, alongside the collaborative programming project announced this week as part of Creative Scotland’s Radical Care Fund, we are excited to diversify and grow the pool of voices that shape and inform our programme as we evolve MANIPULATE Festival together.”
Please join us in welcoming Róisín to Puppet Animation Scotland!
