Since its inception in 2005 the Creative Fund has been integral to the development of over 100 performing arts productions and projects initiated by Scottish based theatre makers and animators with awards made totalling over £300,000 (Puppet Animation Scotland: Creative Fund Reports 2008-2019).
Scottish-based artists of whatever discipline can apply to our Creative Fund to explore elements of their working practices which relate to puppetry, object manipulation, visual theatre and animated film.
Our awards enable successful applicants to use specific, time-limited research and development to explore imaginative and compelling new creative ideas which have not yet seen the light of day. Artists can also apply for support to develop new technical skills and expertise.
In 2022 we supported Jessica Innes, Ella Mackay, Andrew Simpson, Emily Nichol and Grant Holden who are coming to the end of their project time and mentoring this Summer.
This year we have a further £18,500 to award.
Our fund opens on 22nd June 2022 for applications and closes on 27th July 2022.
To find out more and read our guidelines for applying please see Creative Fund – Puppet Animation Scotland.
We’re happy to speak to artists about their idea in advance of application – please contact [email protected] if you’d like to arrange a call or a coffee with one of our team.
